Biography

Nóirín McCarthy is a lecturer in the Department of Economics in Cork University Business School and is a member of the award winning Spatial and Regional Economics Research Centre (SRERC).  Since joining the Deparment, she has taught across a range of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  She is an undergraduate of University College Cork (B.Comm) and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Economics and Evaluation Studies as well as a Masters Degree in Economics (M.Econ.Sc) also from University College Cork.  In 2016, Noirin completed her PhD at the University of Sheffield under the supervision of Prof. Peter Wright.  Her thesis is titled "Essays on the Irish Labour Market." She also holds a Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.  Her research interests include entrepreneurship, innovation, and the labour market.
